Some projects that I have worked on
I graduated from UW-Parkside in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, along with a minor in Web Development. Since 2022, I’ve been thriving as a Systems Engineer at Modine Manufacturing, specializing in server management, configuration, and automation. In addition to my professional endeavors, I’m deeply passionate about technology. I maintain an extensive homelab environment, which serves as a sandbox for exploring and deepening my understanding of both hardware and software in the tech industry. This hands-on approach has been invaluable in broadening my knowledge and skills.
My Journey
2015-2019
Upon entering High School, I knew that I wanted to deepen my knowledge of computers. Fortunately, my school allowed me to take computer science courses through a local technical college during my sophomore year, which enabled me to obtain college credits early. My school then offered their own computer science courses my junior year. After I had completed all their provided computer courses, I received special permission from the principal to take AP Computer Science as an independent study. I was awarded the Computer Academic Excellence Award by the Principal of Union Grove High School.
2017-2019
In my time working for Best Buy, I held various sales positions. I began my employment as a seasonal sales associate before my performance led to me being hired for a part-time position. By the end of my time on the sales floor, I was equipped with enough knowledge of the store and their products to inform and navigate the customers towards their best solution.
2019-2020
An opportunity to transfer to the Geek Squad arose during my time on the sales floor and I was eager to extend my knowledge and skills as part of that team. As part of the Geek Squad, I learned what it was like to be on the other end of a sale and how the customers were interacting with their technology. I gained familiarity with diagnosing customer computers and assisting in the improvement of their user experience.
2019-2023
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with a breadth in Web Development along with a Unix System Administration Certificate. During my time at Parkside, I completed coursework in areas such as data structures and algorithms, web applications and computer architecture, which provided a strong foundation in both software development and system-level computing. Alongside my coursework, I focused heavily on systems and infrastructure through the Unix System Administration Certificate, where I developed practical experience working with Linux environments, automation, and system management tools. I was also a member of the DevOps team, where I helped integrate CI/CD pipelines for development teams using Jenkins, GitHub, and AWS. In this role, I worked on improving build automation, streamlining deployment workflows, and supporting developers by creating more reliable and repeatable development pipelines.
2020-2022
As an IT Operations Intern for Modine, I handle most of the network account creations and terminations. Working in Modine’s world headquarters has allowed me to experience the ins and outs of a corporate environment. During my employment, I have spent a lot of time working with Microsoft’s administrative software. As part of my role, I delegate permissions to other employees and maintain the company’s network. I also contribute to the company’s IT infrastructure, which includes the company’s servers, printers, and network devices.
2022-Present
Upon Graduation from Parkside I was offered a full-time position as a Systems Engineer. As a Systems Engineer at Modine Manufacturing Company’s global headquarters, I play a pivotal role in upholding and deploying the organization’s IT technologies. I have spearheaded the creation and upkeep of automation processes, streamlining critical operational tasks. Additionally, I’ve taken the initiative to train global users, ensuring they can leverage these automated processes efficiently. Through my efforts, I’ve contributed to enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring seamless IT functionality on a global scale.
